Join thousands who have discovered a great sports experience and join MVBC for UPWARD Basketball and Cheerleading 2026.
Upward Sports is a Christ-centered sports experience that focuses on healthy competition, sportsmanship, skill building and fun versus the “win-at-all-costs” mentality found in many children’s sports leagues and, most importantly, leading children to Jesus Christ.
This year, MVBC will offer Upward Basketball and Cheerleading are back for 2026 at Mountain View Baptist Church! Our basketball program is for boys and girls ages 3 years old to 5th grade, and our cheerleading program is for girls ages 3 years old through 5th grade. Basketball will be co-ed and cheering will be will be for girls. Your registration fee includes an 6 game season, a minimum of 7 weeks of practice, reversible jersey top (this year Indiana Fever black design colors on one side, and Indiana Pacers yellow design and colors on the other). For cheerleaders your registration fee includes an 6 game season, a minimum of 7 weeks of practice, cheer top (this year Indiana Fever/Pacers black with yellow/white letters) and skort (this year Indiana Fever/Pacers black with yellow/white trim), matching hair bow, and pom-poms.
We will be offering a 6 week basketball program for boys and girls ages 3 years old to 5th grade, and our cheerleading program is for girls ages 3 years old through 5th grade.
Basketball will be co-ed and cheering will be for girls only.
IMPORTANT DATES
An evaluation for Upward Sports is a required session where children are assessed on skills, physical traits like height and athleticism, to help with fair team balancing. The evaluation, which includes uniform sizing, usually lasts about 30 minutes. The data from these evaluations is entered into the program’s computer software to create balanced teams and ensure players are placed appropriately for their skill level and development.

- 1st Evaluation: 11/22/2025 10:00 am -12:00 pm
- 2nd Evaluation: 11/24/2025 6:00-8:00 pm
- 3rd Evaluation: 11/25/2025 6:00-8:00 pm
- Meet Your Coach Event: 1/4/20: 2:00-3:00 pm

Inclement weather schedule will be sent out to the number you provide for communication and listed on the church website. These decisions will be published by 4:00 PM on a practice night and Friday evening by 8:00 PM for game days on Saturday.
