Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry has decided to continue a Monthly Meeting on the fourth Thursday’s at 6:30 PM at MVBC.  As of now we are planning to have a light meal for these meetings. All men from the church and the greater community are cordially invited to join us.  Our only requirement is for all men to respond to specific text message invitations that they plan to attend in order that we have enough food yet don’t waste funds, etc.

Bernice Brown who lives in Hurley shared that the following items are desperately needed due to 20 Homes completely destroyed and washed down the river.  30 or 40 additional homes were damaged to degree that most of them may never again used for a home.

There has been a command center set up and the request is for the following items:

· Shovels

· Gloves

· Batteries (any and all types)

· Cleaning Supplies

· Buckets

· Brooms

· 20 gal propane tanks

· Anything and everything will be of use for the residents and for those who are coming to help make things livable again in this community.

Folks need to gather and bring these items to the church and place them under the porch at the basement of the church.  Items need to be there ready to be transported up to Hurley, VA.

Note: MVBC Youth are involved in targeted assistance for two young ladies who MVBC youth are friends with who have been victims at this site.

Men’s Ministry will be planning further assistance efforts including future “on-site” recovery teams “on the ground” later when appropriate.
